Lady in the permit department is rude as hell, bought 2.5 acres and spent almost 60k for her to tell me I can’t have a shed or camper ,Her words were it’s not a storage lot or camp ground and don’t leave your trash.I guess that’s how they talk to people that own property out there.lady talks down to you like you spent 60k to go start a garbage dump.She must hate her job.

Apparently code enforcement doesn't care about tenants in Okeechobee Florida. I'm currently living with a hole in my roof. Water leaking all the way down to my kitchen. I've called four times I spoke to someone once almost 2 months I've been living with a hole in my roof where I can see the sky and nobody comes!!!!! I currently am on some serious medication and breathing treatment hospitalized once again ! Why aren't you coming out to see This disaster!!!!! I'm paying $1,300 a month why aren't you coming out to look at what they're doing ?

From glades county hotels to gas stations to residence. Entire county is falling apart i don't believe code enforcement here does anything but harass it's residents. Meanwhile I count countless violations through out most of our own county govt buildings, churches, gas stations, even walmart. They allow people to set up without vendor permits everywhere, I really don't see a point in glades county code compliance it seems as if they are uneducated about what exactly their enforcing. The amount of people burning their trash or debris alone in areas that they aren't allowed. My children have asthma I have called the fire dept and code compliance a dozen times to barely do anything about it. Your about to see a lawsuit the next time my neighbor fires his fire pit up. It's located within 150ft of other occupied structures, under 25ft of the property owners occupied structure. And still code compliance and the fire dept keep telling him it's okay to do. No the FK it's not. Learn the codes of glades county or go the FK on somewhere else Annie Jones, and both the fire dept LT's.

DO NOT BUY A PROPERTY IN THIS COUNTY!!! The inspectors especially Roy Griffin are constantly checking your property to give you a warning, attend a hearing, and eventually a fine. Roy Griffin's objective is for property owners to build on their property and for him to receive a percentage from the builders. Think wisely before buying in this county.

It's all good the only problem I have is I've been here since 1964 when you didn't need a permit for anything and Then when you did need one It's was to protect the home owners to make sure the builder do there job right but now the builder's are paying off the inspectors letting shabby work to be past .
Now it's all about making money off of homeowners that why you need a permit for everything that you want to do so you .
What ever happened to your rights 🤔

Be careful with code enforcer, I'm a minority farm owner in Okeechobee, received today a courtesy card stating for me to remove my backhoe equipment from my farm can't make this up.
