I would strongly advise avoiding Jacobson Lawrence & Company. I just left their service after years of spotty email correspondence from them, they were GPL when I started with them.

What I think happened is they figured I was going to be ending my client relationship with them and, unauthorized, took $2,118 out of my bank account, no notice, no invoice, no receipt until I asked them to provide it to me. Later they provided me an invoice and admitted they added the work time after the fact. The work on the invoice was from years prior, and they told me it fell under the engagement contract I signed in 2022. Some of the invoice items were for work done correcting a mistake they had made, work left unfinished when they didn't answer my emails about it.

On the contract it states that Accounting General Services will be charged every 30 days, but it was not. I've tried communicating with them to resolve the matter and they've stopped responding to my emails. I can't afford a lawsuit so I guess they just get to steal my money.

In my opinion, It's very unethical and borderline fraudulent to breach their own contract by accumulating a bill in secret for years and then punitively charge someone for leaving their service. If any of the partners are reading this please reach out to me so we can resolve this matter.

I'm planning on reporting them to all accounting agencies/any review site for what I believe is unethical practice and fraud. Trust me, do not hire them.
