Amazing place, great people and incredible treasures. You have to be prepared because Florida's weather is not regular. Lots of water, wet cloths for the head and appropriate clothing for mining activity in a hostile territory. Recommended by the Xploratv crew, we experienced a tremendous adventure and we will soon return in winter to spend the night in that incredible place.

Frank and Kyndall have done a fantastic job at making our mining experience pleasurable. The amount of work they have done to fix up this mine is stunning. The dirt is in several piles and very easy to take through. I attended their multi day event and it was way too much fun. Mining, live music, snacks, drinks, nightly fire pit, new friendships, and of course fossil crystals galore. They have several options for digging and the space is safe for families even with small children. Clean Porto potty was a nice upgrade also. We were allowed to keep everything we found. I was really impressed with how Frank always was moving dirt for everyone to have potential for that great find. He also built a huge screen table with powerful water hoses so that you will not destroy your crystal with a pick ax. Kyndall was on top of organizing and getting everyone on the wash table for one hour time slots. Everyone had epic pieces to take home. There is a large flat field for tent camping. Tye night hunting with black lights was really fun. This husband wife team really take pride in their work. They also had a competition with very generous prizes. Don’t miss their next event!

We had such a great time finding crystal filled fossils and clams at @Ft Drum Crystal Mine. The new owners Frank and Kyndall (@that camping couple) have cleaned this place up and turned it around. We camped overnight and they were awesome hosts. We did the screen/wash station with grade A material and found so many cool treasures. Not only are there crystal filled clams, there are fossilized seashells filled with crystals. We definitely plan on going back.

FEB 2025- I had high expectations for my visit to the Ft. Drum Crystal Mine based on past experiences and the promotional material online, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Having visited the site years ago under previous ownership, I was excited to return, especially with the promise of high-quality material and a productive dig. However, what I actually experienced was far from what was advertised.

Despite paying $1,000 for two people, we were left to sift through what was essentially bunk material, yielding nothing but broken fragments, seashells, and clam tops with no crystals. Meanwhile, others—especially those associated with the owners—were retrieving full clams and clusters from separate piles we were told not to dig in. The claim that we were given "A-grade material that had never been searched" was simply untrue.

To make matters worse, the hosts were dismissive when concerns were raised. After two hours of fruitless digging, I approached them about the lack of quality specimens, only to be told to "keep digging." Eventually, I walked away after realizing that I had been misled. The final straw was when the owners took off with another group and left us behind without offering to bring us back, which was extremely unprofessional.

This experience was nowhere near worth the price, and I left feeling scammed. If you're a serious rockhound, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. I will be sharing my experience with others to prevent them from making the same mistake.

Well i live out here..n how this property was remodled was unsafe n the things tht was done to move the dirt..you can only get so much clams n crystals out of those piles cus the dirt out there was brought in by dump truck loads n its been bein dug in for alot years so evenually its gonna run out..i think it fraud to buy a place tht someone built n where all ideas came from..n use it to your advantage ..and coming from back ground this couple has they should of known tht the vlams are gonna run out n their not gonna b able to go n get dump truck loads of dirt any more .im not tryen to cause trouble or make it a issue but its wrong n the price is ridiculious..

This used to be a really great spot, but they have not added any new piles for over a year. Really steep price for a place that has not been maintained. If they fixed the water and got new material, the $100/person cost might be easier to bear

my wife and i went here years ago and was amazing we brought back all kinds of cool stuff i tried to plan a trip just my self but when i called the other day and messaged the number i was informed that the mine is closed, i asked if it was permanent and seems it may be. if your gonna try to go unless the google listing is updated i’d call first

I drove to the mine, but there was no one there. Everything seem closed and abandoned. I got a little scared because it was just a small group of girls visiting with me. I am still trying to figure out if it's open, if it is, I will come back to try it and update the review. Thank you
