In August of 2022, I entrusted Florida Trophy Gators with a full-body mount of my alligator. I was originally quoted 18–24 months for completion; it ultimately took 28 months. Although communication was poor throughout the process, I was willing to wait longer for what I hoped would be a perfect final product. During the build, I provided very specific measurements and told them the narrowest opening in my home was 35 inches—this detail would prove critical later. On delivery day, March 27, 2025, Florida Trophy Gators attached the wrong shipping paperwork, leading to the wrong mount being delivered. This mistake forced me to take a day off work unnecessarily.
Despite the mix-up not being their fault, Trophy Transport went above and beyond to correct it. Thanks to Ginger and her team’s professionalism and care, I received my actual mount by April 10—well ahead of my requested date of April 13. I can’t say enough good things about Trophy Transport and their level of service.
Unfortunately, once the correct alligator arrived, several issues became immediately apparent—none of which could be attributed to shipping. There were flaking scales, missing pieces, inconsistent coating, and overspray on the bottom jaw—one of the most visible parts of the mount. These defects pointed to clear quality control issues and poor craftsmanship.
Wade from Florida Trophy Gators initially blamed Trophy Transport for the damage, but I had firsthand insight into their careful handling and knew this wasn’t the case. In fact, Ginger even mentioned that their company was considering ending their partnership with Florida Trophy Gators due to concerns like mine. Another major issue arose when we attempted to bring the mount inside. Despite my clear communication and proof that no part could exceed 35 inches, one section of the base measured 41 inches. The agreed-upon three-piece base was not honored. Their proposed solution? Cut up my brand-new mount and use a DIY repair kit they would send. After paying thousands, I shouldn't be doing repairs due to their oversight. Because of the delivery complications, I missed work and part of my son’s first birthday while trying to get the mount indoors. Once I had proper lighting and time for a thorough inspection, I discovered even more flaws, which I documented in photos.
I reached out to Sarah at Florida Trophy Gators and remained polite and professional. I asked that they either send someone to make repairs or provide a kit along with a 25% refund (roughly $2000) to cover professional repair costs. Sarah had been working with me until April 17, when I learned she no longer worked there. Before her departure, she told me Sharonna had offered $1000 and a kit, acknowledging the quality issues. While I appreciated Sharonna’s professionalism, the offer fell short of what would be needed to correct the damage. When I reiterated my request, she said she needed to speak with Wade, the co-owner. Wade called me the next day and was rude, dismissive, and even laughed at my concerns. He said, “Best of luck. I wouldn’t have even offered you what Sharonna did,” and mocked a second opinion I received from another taxidermist.
Regarding the overspray, he said, “If it really bothers you that bad, just scrub it off with paint thinner.” This is an $8000 mount, not a DIY project. If you paid for a professional paint job on your car and it came back with overspray and chipping, you'd expect it to be fixed—not be told to clean it yourself.

I’ve been very pleased with all aspects of services. I received my meat within time I consider quick. I am also happy with the taxidermy — they captured the qualities of my gator. I was pleased with the customer service on site and the communication from them since.

They did a good job on the two taxidermy items I had them do. But they told me it was going to take 18 months to do this work and charged me $900+. It took 3 years. My brother in law that got a bigger alligator got his in the 18 months and his was a 9 foot my was a 6 foot. They charge me full price to do it all at the time I requested what I wanted to do on the alligator 24 months later after the head was done they charged me $300 more. Then they charged me $500+ more for the completion of the wall mount then $500+ more to ship the mount to me. So if it was just for the items and how well they did I would recommend this place to do the taxidermy but the long it take the more they will charge you because my brother in law didn’t spend as much as we did and his was a larger gator. So if you want to be up charged go with this company but if you don’t want hind fee maybe try another company.

Florida Trophy Gators does Outstanding Work and are just Great People!! It may take a while to get your gator back but believe me, it will be worth the wait!! The reason it takes as long as it does is because they are one of the best alligator taxidermist in the country. I have done my own taxidermy work for the past 40 years, but just did not want to tackle doing my own gator having never mounted one before. After visiting their showroom and seeing their work and talking their awesome staff, I knew I wanted them to do it and am Very Thankful I did because they did a Great Job, and it now looks awesome on my wall!!

Cool place and the team was helpful, even though very unorganized. The office and the processors were definitely not on the same page. We were originally told the meat wasn't any good by the office, upon returning to the skinning shack the processors said, no the meat is good, just some got too hot but they'd trim it up right. We went back to the office and they were a little frustrated. Once everyone cleared it up we got it processed and we're good with the outcome.

First review I’ve written I think for anything. I got my first gator and wanted boots. Was very anxious about the process and the team at Florida Trophy Gators was highly suggested. I wasn’t sure about all of the options on the boot order form but Kelly and Amy were very patient/helpful through the entire process. I got the boots/belt and the finished product is unbelievable. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Kelly/Amy and team. They also processed and packaged the meat and additional leather and sent that along packaged well. Wonderful operation. Thanks again.

Used Ron's Guide Service to get my gator and this is who my guide recommended. I am so glad he did. This was in February 2021. Originally I was told an earlier time frame when I dropped off my gator (or maybe I heard what I wanted to hear). When I called for status updates in the Fall of 21, the team was friendly, professional, and worked with me to arrange pickup in April 2022.

Customers, beware, after paying a large deposit I was told I would have my gator in 8 to 12 months, with no communication whatsoever from this company at finally got done almost 2 years later. The gator I got was 11 foot gator and they send me back, a completely different gator nearly half the size not only do they lie and deceit, and everything they have said, and done over the last two years. The staff is extremely unprofessional and the owner is a complete jerk. Do your research before you choose this company most of the reviews you see on there that are good our friends and family that’s how deceitful they are.
