Donna Hilderbrand is one of the rudest individuals I've ever had the displeasure of being around. Anytime I had a question regarding our rental property and called her (I made maybe 5 calls over the course of a year) she was extremely rude and unprofessional. On her page she boasts that she is "The Best in Personal Service"! which is an absolute joke.

Our lease said that the homeowner was responsible for trash, and when we moved in our trash bill was 2+ months outstanding. I had to fight with Donna to get this rectified. We had work order requests that were never addressed. The tenant <-> broker relationship was so poor, I wouldn't rent from her again if the property was half off.

Upon move-out, we were charged insane labor/admin/cleaning fees and only got a fraction of our deposit back even though the house was very clean.

And the sad part is, she treats her assistant like trash and it doesn't even seem to bother her. Do not rent from Donna Hilderbrand.

I bought my house with era shield, Donna Hatch did a FANTASTIC job!! HOWEVER, it was a completely different story when I tried to use them to manage my property as a rental! Chrystal Humphrey is thier ONLY property manager, she claims big things and promises professional pictures, then only uses her phone to take pictures of your property. The websites she promised she is very familiar with and would post the house on, later claims "she is not sure she is saying properly and is unsure if it is easy to post on." When my husband was irritated that the picture (that we're promised to be professional) were terrible, she told us "the pictures could not be done better, even with a $500 an hour photographer." She then interrupted my husband to tell him he was wrong and the pictures were great! When he disagreed and stated that it was unprofessional to interrupt her client that had an issue with her performance she stated that she could not help us (I have been working with her for months this is the very first issue) and she walked out!! We are PCSing (army move) to Georgia in 21 days, she left us high and dry. Now I have to start my research over again and try to get my house out thier as soon as possible with only 21 days left. Horribly unprofessional and rude! Chrystal Humphrey is a blight on the era shield real estate name! The only reason this review is this high is because Donna Hatch did an exemplary job, if this review was based on her preformence than it would be 5 stars! Of you are buying or selling a home you should absolutely contact Donna Hatch!! If you are planning on renting your home you should avoid Chrystal Humphrey like the Plague!

Donna is rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. She is relentless in creating problems and will do everything that she can to slow down transactions. Her expectations from both clients and other agents are beyond unreasonable. Furthermore, she has no attention to detail. She requested documents multiple times that she had already received. She complained about "issues" that are unheard of from anyone else in the industry. She tried to blame me for things that she missed during the inspection. She will make any transaction as difficult as possible and if you're really unlucky, she'll derail the deal. I truly hope you never have the displeasure of working with her. If you're looking to sell or buy a house and her name pops up, RUN!!!!

DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH DONNA HILDERBRAND!! We rented a property from her for 2 years. We were excellent tenants.. upon move out.. we hired cleaning service, had carpets professionally cleaned.. and 3 days before turned in the keys, we noticed a leak in the ceiling.. we immediately sent in pictures and notified Donna.. she did not email, call or come out to the property. We knew this wasn't our problem because we rented and didn't own the property. Fast forward to when we received our deposit back.. (almost 2 months later) to find out we are only getting a quarter of it back. Reasons included the cleaning fee and fixing the leak in the ceiling! We don't agree with the cleaning fee at all, but willing to cut our losses with that. What really made us upset was having to fix that leak. She said we never reported it and a leak that big doesn't happen over night.. (If it is a big leak, it can happen overnight..FYI) We are military and had to leave before she came to do the final inspection.. Never again will we not be there for a final inspection.
We were told a few months after moving in that the roof needed repaired.. never got done.. we told Donna the garage doesn't open when it rains.. never got fixed. She came and did an inspection every time we renewed the lease.. always said things look great.. She seems nice at first.. but beware.. she is a scam and will take your money any way she can!

Had an excellent experience working with Tammy and Gayle here. They're incredibly professional, dedicated and energetic. Despite the uncertainty in the housing market, these ladies helped find the right house and finances that best fit our budget. Couldn't have asked for a better team to work with.

BEWARE!

Please take heed to all the reviews about Donna. She’s very rude and condescending. I called to ask for the companies bank information so I could make my monthly rental payments directly to their account (there wasn’t other options for online payments) She didn’t seem to understand why I wanted to deposit the money instead of buying a money order every month or driving across town to pay her in cash (I do work for a living). She was VERY rude about it and didn’t provide the information.

Not to mention admin and other unnecessary extra fees were added when I moved out just so I couldn’t receive all of my deposit back. The property was left in excellent condition, better than when I moved in.

This place is a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and find another realtor/property management company.

It speaks volumes that 90% of the bad reviews left for ERA shields are about Donna Hilderbrand. Its unfortunate for everyone else who works there.

Donna is very rude and unprofessional. I didn’t get any of my deposit back. She is in fact CHARGING me $700 for having a “unauthorized person” staying with me. My “unauthorized person” was my ACTIVE DUTY HUSBAND. Which I in fact, told her. I had remarried to a active duty soldier and because we got married, he had to leave the barracks. We are DUAL MILITARY.
I was in the field and she harassed me because she couldn’t get a hold of me.. I’m SERVING OUR COUNTRY!!!!! If you are MILITARY... Please do not go to ERA SHIELDS REAL ESTATE.. DONNA will try to take whatever money she can from you.
I have pictures of the property that was left in excellent condition when left at the end of my lease.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DONNA HILDERBRAND. SHE IS DISHONEST AND ALL OF HER SCRUPULOUS DETAILS IN HER LEASE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LIVE YOUR LIFE AND SHE WILL TAKE ANY MONEY THAT SHE CAN, ONE WAY OR A NOTHER. (MILITARY) BEWARE, STAY CLEAR!!!!!
